Frauenau the Glass Town
Frauenau has a long tradition of glass production. Here the well known manufactures of Eisch, Poschinger and Spiegelau had their production places. I must say “Had”, only Eisch is producing crystal ware in Frauenau today.

The museum is presenting an impressive collection of Glass and Crystal ware over several historical periods. Are you also interested to get knowledge of glass production in the past and today? In the Museum you will find demonstrations of historical and todays glass production.
I was in Frauenau with the aim to photograph artistic glass art. Glass is a material with different opacity and can be formed in different ways. This brought me to the idea to get in a symbiotic photographic relationship with the glass object.
In Frauenau there are different ways to show the objects. Many objects are installed in a park environment. Most of them are presented, as mentioned, in the museum.

I have also visited Bayrisch Eisenstein a village near the Czech border.
Here you will find an interesting gallery named “Kunsträume grenzenlos” with a permanent collection of Bavarian Artists and changing exhibitions with different programs.
